Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This policy explains what information Seller Studio collects about you, how it is used, and who it may be shared with. We have written it to be readable, not just legally compliant.

1. Introduction and scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Seller Studio web application and related services. It describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use Seller Studio.

By using Seller Studio, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

For legal review before publication: The identity of the data controller or legal operator should be confirmed and inserted here. If Seller Studio serves users in the EU, EEA, or other regulated jurisdictions, the applicable legal bases for processing should be identified with legal assistance.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and any authentication identifiers created during registration.
  • Shop and team information: Your shop name, the market you sell in, team member details, and the roles assigned to each member.
  • Product information: Product names, descriptions, attributes, variants, pricing inputs, SKUs, categories, and other details you provide for preparation and upload.
  • Images and uploaded files: Product images and other files you upload to Seller Studio.
  • Subscription, billing, and credit records: Your subscription plan, billing history, credit balance, credit usage events, referral records, and transaction references.
  • Jumia submission records: Records of product submissions made to Jumia through the platform, including submission status and any response data returned by Jumia.
  • Jumi conversations: Messages you send to Jumi and the responses it provides. If you request human support, the conversation may be reviewed by a team member.
  • Security and audit events: Login activity, session events, role changes, and other security-relevant actions logged for account protection and troubleshooting.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, and device information collected as part of standard server request handling and security logging.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account and shop workspace.
  • Provide the product preparation and listing tools.
  • Submit products to Jumia on your instruction.
  • Calculate pricing, allocate credits, and process usage events.
  • Process subscription payments and top-up purchases.
  • Operate Jumi and handle support requests.
  • Enforce account permissions and team roles.
  • Detect abuse, investigate security incidents, and protect the service.
  • Improve platform performance and develop new features.
  • Meet applicable legal and financial obligations.

4. AI processing and Jumi

Seller Studio uses AI in two ways: the Jumi assistant and AI-powered listing features such as generating product descriptions and highlights.

When you send a message to Jumi or trigger an AI listing feature, the content of your request, along with relevant context such as product information or conversation history, is sent to an external AI provider to generate a response. Seller Studio currently uses Anthropic and OpenAI as AI providers, depending on configuration.

These providers process your data under their own terms of service. Seller Studio uses standard API agreements with these providers. Whether any of this data is used for AI model training depends on the agreements in place with each provider at the time of processing. We do not make a blanket guarantee that none of your data will ever be used for training because those terms may vary by provider and configuration.

Jumi conversation history is stored in Seller Studio's database. In public mode, conversations are linked to a token stored in your browser. In authenticated mode, conversations are linked to your account. Conversations may be reviewed by authorized Seller Studio staff when you request human support or when required for security and troubleshooting purposes.

AI-generated listing content is a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated text before submitting it to Jumia. AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share information with third parties only where necessary to provide the service or comply with legal obligations. The third parties we work with include:

  • Jumia: Product information, images, and attributes are submitted to Jumia when you instruct Seller Studio to upload a listing.
  • Paystack: Payment processing. When you make a purchase, you interact with Paystack's payment infrastructure. Paystack handles card details; Seller Studio stores transaction references and amounts.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI: AI providers used for Jumi and listing generation features. Content relevant to your request is sent to the configured provider to produce a response.
  • Email provider: An SMTP email service is used to send transactional messages such as account verification and notifications.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: The application runs on hosting infrastructure. Your data is stored and processed on servers operated by the hosting provider.
  • Legal authorities: We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or regulatory obligation.

6. Shop, team, and access permissions

Product information, listing data, images, and usage records are associated with your shop workspace. Shop owners and staff members with appropriate roles can access the data within that workspace according to their permissions.

Authorized Seller Studio administrators may access platform records, usage data, and support conversations where required for operating the service, resolving support requests, or investigating security incidents. Access is restricted to what is necessary for those purposes.

7. Payments and financial information

Seller Studio does not store full card details. Payment cards are processed directly by Paystack. Seller Studio stores transaction references, payment amounts, currencies, payment status, and timestamps to maintain your billing history and support dispute resolution.

Billing records are retained as long as necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, and applicable legal or financial obligations.

8. Cookies and session data

Seller Studio uses a session cookie to maintain your authenticated session after login. This cookie is required for the application to function. It is not used for advertising or third-party tracking.

The application also uses browser localStorage for certain preferences, such as your theme setting and public Jumi conversation tokens. This data stays in your browser and is not sent to our servers.

Seller Studio does not use third-party advertising pixels or behavioral tracking services.

9. Retention and deletion

We retain account, product, subscription, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal, financial, and operational obligations.

If you close your account, you can contact us to request deletion of personal information that is no longer needed for a legitimate purpose. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

For legal review before publication: Specific retention periods for each data category should be documented and implemented before publication. The deletion process and any automated retention schedules should be confirmed with the development team.

10. Data security

Seller Studio uses authentication controls, role-based access permissions, tenant isolation (each shop's data is logically separated from others), encrypted connections for data in transit, and restricted administrative access.

No security measure is absolute. We do not claim that the service is immune to security incidents or that all data is fully protected in every circumstance.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or to request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To submit a request, contact us at chibuzorauthur@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

For legal review before publication: The specific rights that apply to users in Nigeria and any other jurisdictions Seller Studio serves should be confirmed by a qualified legal adviser. Rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any other applicable law should be reflected accurately here.

12. International transfers

Seller Studio uses third-party providers including AI services and hosting infrastructure that may process data outside Nigeria. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the contractual terms and safeguards provided by those providers.

For legal review before publication: The specific countries or regions where data is processed should be confirmed from the actual infrastructure and provider agreements. Any required safeguards or transfer mechanisms under applicable law should be reviewed and documented.

13. Children

Seller Studio is intended for use by sellers and businesses. It is not directed at children. If you believe a child under the applicable minimum age has registered an account, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

For legal review before publication: The applicable minimum age for your jurisdiction and market should be confirmed and stated explicitly here.

14. Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the application before the change takes effect.

15. Contact
